It’s that time of year, out with the old and in with the new… hair, that is! Winter is over and your hair is more than likely ready for an update. Here’s a guide to tackling your most common hair woes and easy tips to bring your hair back to life!
Prob #1: Frizz
Whether your hair is super fine or you have thick, curly locks, frizz can attack us all! There are two products that will seriously manage this problem. First and foremost, Awapuhi Wild Ginger Hydrocream Whip. It’s a mouthful, yes. But it does so many dreamy things for your hair, including tackling frizz. You can use it regardless of what hair type you have, if you air dry or blow dry. Lightweight, hydrating and humidity resistant. If you have curly hair and are looking for something to hold, help form curls AND fight frizz, try the Aquage Curl Defining Creme. Work it into damp hair and it prevents frizz altogether.
Prob #2: Breakage
Many of us chemically treat our hair and then on top of that, thermally treat our hair. The constant cycle of using chemicals and heat does and will take its toll. Not to mention what happens to our hair with exposure to the elements and possible side effects of medication and whatnot. Breakage and snapping happens, leaving us with brittle and unruly hair. Olaplex treatments are the only treatment that will permanently rebuild and heal your hair. It is an intensive treatment that reconnects hair bonds that have been broken due to chemicals and over styling. Bye bye to split ends! Hello to soft, healthy hair from root to tip! Get your in-salon treatment at The Blowdry Cafe and don’t forget to take the at-home conditioner with you when you leave!
Problem #3: Oily Hair
Having oily hair is an annoying problem to have, however it’s simply a matter of using the correct type of products. Avoid shampoos that contain any added oils such as argan oil, it will only add to your problem. Instead, go for a pH balanced shampoo that will help regulate your overactive sebum (oil) glands. Try Paul Mitchell’s Tea Tree Special Shampoo. It invigorates the scalp and is infused with lavender & peppermint! Also, stop running your fingers through your hair! Simply not having a habit of touching your hair will extend your blowouts and prevent excess oiliness.
Problem #4: Limp Hair
Limp hair happens when we not only have finer strands, but also when we don’t stay on top of getting regular trims and haircuts. Stay on top of getting your haircut, even when you’re growing it out. It maintains shape and fullness, allowing for volumizing products and tools to work even better! Get your tresses cut and/or texturized every 6-8 weeks for optimal results. Be using styling products that will plump up your hair and give added volume. I love the Paul Mitchell Extra Body Daily Shampoo for cleansing and the Awapuhi Wild Ginger Hydromist Blowout Spray for styling. A few pumps on towel dried hair prior to blow drying gives weightless body and volume all day long.
Problem #5: Dry Hair
Dehydrated hair looks fuzzy, unruly and can eventually end up breaking and snapping if left untreated. Getting a bi-monthly or monthly hair mask treatment (depending on your hair) will do wonders for you and what’s great is you can couple them when receiving in-salon services or use them at home. My favorite is the Aquage Healing Conditioner. It acts as a humectant, continuously retaining and drawing moisture into the hair without ever weighing it down.
There you have it! Spring forward into the warmer weather with fabulous hair!
